Johnny Wactor, known for playing Brando Corbin on General Hospital, was shot dead in downtown Los Angeles.
The tragic event happened around 3:25 a.m. on Saturday when Wactor saw three men trying to steal the catalytic converter from his car, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
Wactor, 37, thought his car was being towed and confronted the men. One of the thieves then shot him.
Jon Lindstrom of General Hospital called him “kind, unassuming, humble”.

His mother, Scarlett Wactor, said,
“He thought it was being towed because he had parked it on the street, in an unfamiliar place.”

“I hope he’s acting and enjoying it in heaven.”
Wactor’s brother, Grant, expressed the family’s pain, saying, “My mother is tough as nails, but she’s broken down to the bone. It’s just a shame.
It seems like it was just the wrong place, wrong time.” Wactor’s agent, David Shaul, said the actor was “a real moral example to everyone who knew him.”
Johnny Wactor’s career included roles in TV shows like Westworld and Criminal Minds. Recently, he worked as a bartender while exploring screenwriting. Friends and fans shared their sadness on social media.
