The film centers around Zara Ford (Joey King), who discovers her single mother, Brooke (Nicole Kidman), is involved in a passionate affair with her self-absorbed boss, Chris Cole (Zac Efron). This revelation strains the mother-daughter relationship and sets the stage for hilarity and drama.
